Share science. Learn science. Do science.
Hello, my name is Tiffany Swarmer and I am one of six crew members preparing to enter a 120 day simulation in an analog habitat on the slopes of Mauna Loa, Hawaii. This mission is intended to study the various human factors that contribute to crew/astronaut function during an isolated mission to Mars. Along with studying human factors many technologies such as Google glass, 3-D printing, Extra Vehicular Activity (EVA) equipment, exercise clothing, and many more technologies will be tested during this 120 day simulation.
In this blog I will regularly post about my time within the HI-SEAS' Mission 2 120 day Mars simulation, talking about my personal experiences and insights. The mission is scheduled to start March 28th with the last day July 26th. If you would like to learn more or follow other crew members check out:
Exploration is in our genes and will always excite, inspire, and drive us to push our limits in the hopes of creating a better future.
Time for some adventure,
Tiffany M. Swarmer
